Higonokami is a traditional Japanese folding knife. These friction fit folding knives are great for a variety of tasks such as sharpening a pencil, opening packages, foraging and cutting fruit.

They are forged by Mitsuo Nagao in Miki-Hyogo with Yasuki Blue #2 Carbon Steel and cladded with soft iron. The #20 Higonokami has a titanium handle (very light, durable material) and a beautiful black patina on the blade.

Only knives from Nagao KaneKoma Factory are legally allowed to be called Higonokami, other knifemakers must refer to their knives as Higo or Higonokami-Style.

To maintain the knife make sure to keep the blade dry to avoid any rust development and always have your thumb on the lever(chikiri) for safety.
