Jiro

Jiro Nakagawa is a blacksmith based in Nagano. He has an apprenticeship in Shigefusa, and his experience really helps develop his style of knives. His knife is crafted meticulously using Hitachi White 1 carbon steel in warikomi construction, water quenched, and then ground using a Sen (traditional Japanese metal scraper) and finished using a Japanese natural stone. All of his work is done in-house, including his handle making for the Western-style handle. Jiro is also one of the blacksmiths that we have worked with since the very beginning of his journey.
