Nakiri is one of the most common knives that was used in Japanese homes for a long time before the Meiji era started, and it means vegetable cutter. It used to be the main knife with Deba before the introduction of Gyuto and Santoku for cutting vegetables.

It’s shape-based on a smaller version of Cleaver and designed to have thin geometry for cutting hard vegetables without splitting or cracking. Nakiri are Double bevel and range between 165mm and 180mm
